Combustion, Acoustics and Flow Physics Laboratory

The research at CAPS deals with the modeling and control of various types of instabilities in complex flows. On the applied side, we develop hydrogen combustion technologies to address the great challenge of suppressing anthropogenic CO2 emissions.

Our research is at the interface between fluid mechanics, combustion science, acoustics, nonlinear dynamics and control theory. We combine theoretical, experimental and numerical approaches. We work at the fundamental level on canonical systems, as well as on practical configurations, in order to explain complex flow phenomena, attack unexplored problems and trigger technological headways.
